ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Hello, my name is Madeline, Maddie for short.

I grew up in Ogden, Utah surrounded by mountains and wide-open landscapes. Being outside and active was always part of everyday life—ski days in the winter, long summers spent by lakes, hiking, and gardening. That connection to place continues to influence the way I think about design.

I graduated in May 2025 from Utah State University with a degree in Outdoor Product Design and Development, where I focused on creating apparel rooted in function, longevity, and intention. I’m drawn to thoughtful construction, the use of natural materials, and slower ways of making—hand-sewn garments, natural dye experimentation, and pieces designed to wear in over time. To me, sustainability is about connection: to nature, to people, and to the processes behind how things are made. It’s about self-awareness and understanding how design decisions affect environments, ecosystems, and human lives.

Most recently, I completed an immersive outdoor apparel design internship abroad. Living and working within a different culture expanded the way I see both design and the world around me, reinforcing my belief that good design comes from paying close attention—to place, to people, and to context.

When I’m not designing, I love rock climbing, reading, trail running, skiing, traveling, and photographing what’s around me. I’m inspired by people, colorful landscapes, and vibrant cities. Some of my favorite places I’ve been are Étretat, France, and Banff National Park.
